The Hurting Kind – Timi Yuro

From time to time, The Captain’s Collection has to be sorted.. it sprawls around the house.. vinyl in boxes, CD and DVD in drawers and albums, MP3s on every available magnetic storage medium.

I get distracted when I do this. I uncover so much good stuff.. of course it’s always been there, taken completely for granted, but it’s good to hear some classics I haven’t played for quite some time.

Here’s one from the Northern Soul vault in the west wing. If you hadn’t heard of Timi Yuro.. well, you have now. Search out her records: she’s got a voice from heaven (or wherever your preferred deity happens to hang out). The heartache, the crackling emotion of the delivery, the power.. there’s few like her.
